If you are in a hurry you can find some healthy options at Daphne's. I love the rustic flatbread. The lemon soup is good too on occasion. They also have some daily specials that are great. Like Kids Eat Free Su days, $1.69 Street Pita Wednesdays from 3pm - close & Pita Rewards where I can earn $5 off for every 100 points. $1 = 1 point. Nice way to earn discounts on my food purchases.

I've always felt Daphnes version of Greek or Mediterranean food is average. Since this chains revamp to make it more west coast appealing, I haven't seen a real improvement on quality. Overpriced for what it is and portions are small. The only good thing about this place is there is a lot of seating so it's good for the lunch rush.

Always awesome service, the food is fresh and tasty, the servings are filling and the deals are good. I really enjoy my lunches (and dinners) over here.

Stopped in for lunch on my way to San Diego. Food was very fresh and grilled chicken was tasty. Also, the staff was very nice. Perfect combo. Thank you!

Daphne's used to be my favorite! Not sure if it vary by location cuz I usually go to Huntington Beach but things have definitely changed over the years! Fire feta used to be my favorite! When I got it today it was super mushy and not as tasty as I remembered it to be! Also they changed their menu for their dinner value meal! Used to have gyro sandwiches now it's just a gyro plate

Not bad for fast-food style Greek cuisine. Came here on a whim and the first thing that I noticed was that they have completely changed their menu since the last year I was at a Daphnes. Not good that the menu print was super small and we had to read off a paper menu. Otherwise the food was ok. The meat on the kabobs were juicy and flavorful; however kinda small in portion. I got the special California bowl thinking it owuld be healthy, but it was not! I asked for brown rice, but it was a green pilaf and there were all sorts of toppings like bacon, guac and it was a little salty. Oh well. Dessert was awesome - baklava and a bon bon which was like a chocolate covered baklava ball. lol. The coolest thing is that their soda machine gives you syrup sauce. So say I wanted a vanilla sprite, well, I could make that here. Not a good mix btw.

5 Stars based solely on Andrews service. I've been coming to this place for years & their customer service has been sucking the past year or so. Everytime i would come in they would forget something on my to go order (salad dressing, forks, hummus,or i would order double the amount of gyros & i would get a tiny single serving.... lame) Andrew was super friendly, & my order was correct (which hasn't happend in a while... thanks Andrew. Someone give that man a raise

First time here. I needed a healthy choice for lunch and decided to try this place. Very clean. Quick and the food was really fresh tasting. The staff was very nice also. Totally recommend especially if in a rush for lunch.

Daphne's at this location is very clean pair with excellent service and food. You can't go wrong with the the chicken and steak skewer. We are regular at this restaurant has not let us down yet. I think is also a nice to read and do some work if you are in to work and dine.

This place isn't too bad when you are craving greek. Their gyros were big and full of meat and it was quickly made, so not a long wait. However, instead of slices/larger pieces of cucumber, tomato and red onion they must have some sort of "veggie salad" that consists of all those items chopped up and they tasted like they might have had a small bit of vinegar or something added. I'm sure it is quicker but I much prefer fresh. My only other complaint was the tzatziki sauce...my favorite reason for ordering greek and my biggest reason for leaving off 2 stars. It was my least favorite part of the entire meal. Overall, I'd probably not return unless I was really craving a gyro and didn't have time to stop anywhere else but it is not bad for a quick stop and price was good.

I like the food but Yelp says they close at 10 and when I call at 845, they tell me they can't serve me bc the close in 15 min. I told him that yelp says they close at 10 and his answer was "no sir", as if I'm wrong. One customer down.

My first time here and it was amazing the staff helped me with suggestions. I got the mix and match with steak and chicken kabobs and hey at first you think oh that's not a lot of food but before you know it you are full. I love that the chicken had flavor along with the steak and hey! Healthy. You should come in and check it out

Pretty disappointed. I used to eat here every single week for a year in law school. Came back tonight because I was in the area only to find that they took all the good stuff off the menu. No more flavored hummus nor the PITA BEEF BURGER. And seriously if I'm going to have a cheat carb and beef day it was going to be Daphne's pita beef burger. My second choice item well... It was going to take 15 mins to cook and I didn't have time so I just opted to not get anything. I doubt I'll ever come back unless they bring back the pita beef burger.

Judith Arroyo, Manager and Lucy always do a great job on each and every catering order for me. Restaurant is always clean and nice - cool temperature (for the summer months). Great food, great service!!! Thank you. Brian V.

I have used Daphne's twice in the last month for catering...and WOW. I don't think I have gotten more compliments on a lunch order before! I was on the fence about ordering Greek in for a group (you know how people can be picky), but both times, there was hardly a stitch of food left. The chicken and steak skewers go quickly, and the spanikopita is phenomenal! Also, order a side of the pesto hummus...their pesto is the besto! They deliver right on time and they set everything up for you, so all you have to do is enjoy (and clean up the mess after the masses devour every bite).

  • Chelsea D.

I love Daphne's normally. I haven't ever been to a bad one until I went here. Today was the second time that I had bad service here. The other times I have gone, the food isn't hot. It is at the most like warm. Last time that I had bad service, it was because the chicken kabobs were still pink in the middle. This time, I went to eat with my friend and he finished his food before my soup was ready. The total amount of time it took for the soup to be ready was more than 15 mins. I asked for my money back and left without eating. My friend enjoyed his meal. It is very disappointing that a restaurant that I like so much and that I love/work by is unable to please it's paying customers.

Review for 30 April 2014 I had the Classic Pita (falafel style) and it actually tasted pretty good for someone who's had Greek food for the very first time. The falafel (hush puppies) didn't taste soft and mushy, and the pita bread was not cold at all. The size was a bit big, but I managed to devour the whole thing in one sitting. :) With the pita and a regular-sized soft drink for close to around $10, it wasn't really that bad of a deal.

Ugh! Should of yelped this place before I headed in. I am very few who don't complain but I just have too... I went in for a Greek salad. Realized that their "Greek" salad was prepared with avocado, corn and pine nuts...hmmm "Greek" food??? What happened to my Greek olives,? Cucumber? Red onion? Tomatoes? Feta cheese nope none of that? I am so confused if I wanted black beans and tex mex I could have gone somewhere else? Anyways I ordered kabobs and grilled veggies that tasted fresh out of a frozen dinner plate. $10 not worth it. Every penny counts please get rid of the skateboards on the wall and make Daphne Greek again she desperately needs her Greek flavas!!!!

  • Erick A.

I phoned in an order around 8:00pm for a salmon plate and a gyro chicken kabob combo. First of all, the food was cold like it has been sitting for a long time. Then they forgot to include salad dressing on both of the plates and the portions were smaller than what I am used to get. All of items on the menu were awful! The salmon was extremely dry and not worth the $10 price I paid for. The gyro was dry and the yogurt sauce was very watery. The chicken kabob was dry as well. Overall, it was just poor quality like the workers do not care at all about the food they serve. I would never go to this establishment again.

Quick service. Good food. nice employees. While I wouldn't normally frequent a chain, there isn't extensive option in suburban OC. This fit the bill for a rushed meal.

Love their carved lamb pita sandwiches. Friendly staff, great sandwich at a reasonable price. Big thumbs up this one!!

The food here is great, the prices are equally as good and the service is always friendly. The restaurant is bright, clean and modern and is conveniently located as well. Yes, there are other places like Christaki's where you can get better Greek food, but this Daphne's never fails to satisfy my gyro cravings. I stopped by here last night and devoured my gyro and it was delicious. Super fresh, tasty gyro meat and awesome tzatziki sauce. I don't think you can go wrong with Daphne's in Costa Mesa, especially for how affordable it is.

Don't know about this place got the salmon to go got it back to work and it was like a rock burnt and dry.... Why would you serve that to someone.. Hope they get it together. Wish I knew how to attach this gross photo...

We stopped by while shopping for a car along the "car row" of Harbor Blvd in Costa Mesa. The workers were very friendly, the price was right and it tasted great. I had a Gyro and my wife had a bbq chicken flatbread pizza. Both were really good and FAST. Also - very affordable. We had to splurge for some of the chocolate pecan dessert. It was amazing - it should be illegal! Highly recommended. :)

Gonna keep it short and sweet, like all of my visits. I always come in for to-go and their staff looks kinda lazy but meh, it doesn't matter too much to me as long as they get their job done. Food: Super good! I always get the two item combo with two chicken kabobs, rice, and fries. I also love their pita bread with hummus and their takizi is addicting! Chicken is always nicely cooked, never dry, rice is nicely flavored, fries are crispy and also perfectly seasoned (for some reason, Greek places always have really good fries!) Their hummus is nice and thick and their super soft pita bread is the perfect transportation device TO MY MOUTH. Decor: Clean, fresh Service: Meh, but nice. I would recommend this place!

  • Jon T.

I liked this place! the interior was nice and clean, a lot more modern looking than the other Daphne's I've been too, it was pretty empty when I went for dinner and the staff was very friendly and served us quickly. I have a gyros and it was very good! perfect amount of meat to veggie ratio and with the yogurt sauce it was amazing! prices are fair as well, definitely a great place to stop by if you're looking for a casual Greek place to grab a quick bite!

  • Tim W.

I stop at this location occasionally for lunch. I never use to like Daphne's Greek Cafe much, but then they did the revamp and updated to menu and restaurants to 'Daphne's California Greek'. The place is much better since the update! Pretty much anything you order... you can get as a combo with 2 sides and a drink for an additional $2.29. The wraps and pitas are always good! My friend ordered some vegetarian platter and said it was very tasty. Only complaint on my recent visit... they charged me $1.29 for 4 little triangles of pita bread... in the past they always gave them to us for no charge!? Cool interior with lots of seating. Service was friendly.

I'm not a big fan of mediterranean food, but Daphne's is alright with me! I got the shrimp gyro, rice pilaf, and grilled veggies. The sauce tied everything together. The food was as fresh and healthy as anyone could expect from a casual restaurant. I would definitely come back for a quick but satisfying lunch.

Years ago, I went to this location and wasn't impressed--couldn't understand what the excitement was about. Following the remodel and revamping of the menu, I've been a fan. I think it's worth mentioning it's more of a place for lunch rather than dinner. On this particular visit, I had a chicken wrap (meat flavorful, tender), side salad (very fresh), and lemon chicken soup (excellent balance of flavors, nice texture--may be a little addicting). I would definitely recommend if you are short on time, but want to still eat somewhat healthy. OH...sign up online for their Pita Points Rewards Club!

My employer hosts an Employee of the Month lunch, and our tradition is that whoever gets EoM, chooses where we order food from for the next month. I got to choose this time, and asked for Daphne's. The person who coordinates the lunches placed our order for our EoM luncheon today a week ago and received a confirmation number. The food never showed up, and Daphne's was useless in trying to fix the problem of 35 hungry people and no food. They took no responsibility for the mistake, and we ended up having pizza for lunch. Mind you, it was good pizza (thank you Doria's Haus of Pizza for saving the day!), but it was not what I asked for. Thanks a lot, Daphne's, for completely screwing up my lunch choice.

Since I've been on somewhat of a yelping binge lately, I've decided to go out of my normal burgers and korean barbeque routine and try something new--greek food! Came here with a friend who shares the same passion for food as me and the first thing I noticed was that it was rather clean and had friendly service. Since I was new, I asked the cashier what he'd recommend and he told me the most popular dish was the gyro with two sides. So I went along with it and decided to add 2 sides and a drink for an extra 2.50. Total for food was ~$11. My gyro came out along with the two sides I ordered, rice pilaf and french fries. The rice was surprisingly tasty but as for my first experience eating the gyro, which was comprised of 80% beef and 20% lamb, I was not wowed. Maybe it was just because they had an off day, but the meat seemed a little dry and the vegetables seemed like they've been sitting out in the open for a while; it was a bit stale. As for the french fries, I thought it was a dumb move in retrospect because I should have ordered something different than what I eat every week. All in all, I probably wouldn't go back because the food really didn't appeal to my meatarian senses and carnivore desires but I could see how some people would enjoy it...it seemed pretty healthy after all. Good thing I had 5 star company which made the experience awesome! :)

Evidently, this location is under new management and it's been going through an upgraded inside - that's nice. ATTENTION Managers -------- NOT SO NICE: the cloud of smoke my friend and I had to endure while we were having a delicious lunch on the patio and 2 of the guy employees came out and started puffing away RIGHT BY THE PATIO DOOR and the wind carried it right over to us! I went in and asked for the manager but the 'shift manager girl' was there and I told her - we were getting more ice in our MINUTE MAID LEMONAID LIGHT and she ended up going out to clear the table and must have said something to the guys because they stopped smoking and went back to work - didn't see them wash their hands or anything (not for sure they didn't go in the back or not) ,,,,, I really like this place and even moreso now that they have MINUTE MAID LIGHT but if I have to sit through employee's smoking, then I'll go elsewhere - that's just nasty - especially while eating or right after ...... go to the other side by the parking lot and puff away - I didn't pay 12.00 for a flipping lunch to have it ruined by your nasty habit! Thanks for ruining lunch!

I haven't eaten in Daphne's in probably a year - - but that's only because the one that was close to my work closed down. I decided to day to get a special treat for lunch and make the "trek" to the next closest Daphne's and pick up something different for lunch. I had a coupon to eat free (yay!), online ordered (yay!), and then went to get it. When I walked in, two different employees said hello and my food was waiting and ready when I got there. I joked around with the guy who cashed me out and I left in less than 5 minutes - it was perfect (since I had to go back to work and this was my lunch "break" and my office is 10 minutes away - each way). However, it wasn't until I got back to the office and cracked open the to-go bag did I make this discovery: the whole wheat pita that I requested wasn't used my fries were not only cold, but soggy (yuck!) and my "fire grilled veggies" were actually steamed and then loaded down with so many spices that I couldn't identify what spices they used (and if my eyes would have been covered, I'm not sure that I would have been able to identify the veggies!) Clearly, my food was ready early (+) but it sat in the container on the counter steaming until I came to get it (-). I would have rather waited a few more minutes and gotten back to work with warm food then eating something so sub-standard....and because I don't go to lunch very often, it's a treat, and I was severly disappointed!! If my office wasn't so far away from Daphne's, I would have taken my food back, shown the manager, and then gone to one of the neighboring places and gotten something that was fresh and warm. There is too much competition (for lunch spots) in this shopping center for one place to skimp on service. I say - maybe, maybe, maybe, if you are eating there, this would be worth it. If you are taking it to go, choose somewhere else.

So we were in need for some food for a small party which is bascially my family. Hahaha Didnt want to cook and no fast food then we thought of Daphnes due to yelps help. Went online and ordered two family feasts. I guess I was super hungry and left within 10 mins. Im thinking its gonna take them at least 20 mins to get this ready. I get there and the food is almost ready. I see them grilling the chicken, salmon, and cutting the meat so it is fresh. Awesome. The tray it came in was great. My kids loved the chicken and rice. I was lovin everything... the tzatiki sauce is what brought everything together and was soooo good!! Loved both kinds of pita bread. The only this was the grilled veggies were a bit over cooked or seemed old. But it still tasted ok. Next time I will try the catering option and see how that goes.

    - Locale destination - It's in kinda big shopping mall. After you go Target or Henry's, you can come.... It's very clean but kinda slow service. Their fountain soda choices are weird... - Gluttony expedition - Gyros: Decent Chicken: OK but boring Hummus:

I have always been a fan - even before the name change . We have usually enjoyed the food but some of the changes are not for the better. The fact that they would not substitute pita chips for pita bread. It would cost a total of what? .10? To give pita bread with the hummus?? nevermind the fact that you have to choose pita and hummus as two separate sides? So lame. The staff is fairly Nice but Completely unwilling to work with the customer. Disappointed, Daphne's!

This place has recently remolded their inside...good look to it. The food is good and there are new staff here. I think the last layout was kind of plain and the staff were not all with it. The portion sizes are good; however, their prices have gone up some.

a regular lunch spot that my boyfriend and I go to. This place has always been friendly and the food is fresh and great. I also noticed today that they changed how they present their food and the food tastes a little different but its still good. I usually order the gyro plate with salad and rice pilaf but this time I got the gyro sandwich. Fries are made fresh to order and they are fantastic. I especially love their tzatziki sauce. I haven't had really any other greek food so I can't really compare it to anything else but this place so far so good!

  • Rachel T.

This place impressed me so much as a fast-service restaurant that I had to write a review. I've seen this place thousands of times, but not a huge fan of gyros and falafel. I had instead, the grilled salmon meal and it was delicious! Sided it with fire roasted veggies and greek salad. The oneee tiff I have is that the carrots tasted spongey. Like it was obviously frozen, heated, then reheated. The service here is impeccable. Can't believe its a fast food place. Really gotta high five whoever hired for this place... the employees are warm, knowledgeable and made my first experience fantastic. Because of that, I will be coming back. Such a great healthy dinner, glad I tried.

I wanted to try Greek food so I thought of Daphne's. I tried their $6 dinner deal, which includes an appetizer, entree, and a dessert. Seems like a good deal right? Well actually, I barely enjoyed my meal. My salad was way too salty. My fried calamari was dry. The dessert was like a 1 inch cube of pastry. The reason why I would give a star is that really enjoyed lemon chicken soup. Overall, the food looks better than it tastes. I wouldn't go here again.

This review goes for the Harbor Blvd location of Daphne's California Greek cuisine only. I went into Daphne's this afternoon, being very hungry running late from work. One employee came up to me and said 'hold on' someone will help you in a minute . . .OK. Then a second different employee came up to me and said the same thing . . . OK ( I can be patient) Then a third employee came up to the cash register and said this to me . . . grrrr . After the fourth Daphne's employee at the cash register said 'Hold on some one will take your order in a minute. . . . I walked out of Daphne's. They suck - putting the paying customer last. Daphne's lackadaisical customer service at the ordering line does not deserve my money or my business. I am never eating at Daphne's on Harbor in Costa Mesa again.

The tables and chairs in this location was newly remodeled. The staff is friendly and the food is great! I'm a fan of the gyro or chicken pita and making it a combo. Do yourself a favor and substitute one of your sides for the Lemon Chicken Soup if you happen to like soup. It is slightly creamy with pieces of white meat chicken and quinoa!! One of my FAVORITE soups in the world! All the pitas are good. Roasted veggies are made to order. Tabouleh salad is always good. I'm not a big fan of Spanakopita (sp?), but even so, I will say I've had better. It was extremely sticky and soggy. Probably because it sits there all day soaking in the syrup or whatever that stuff is. Doesn't matter to me because I love everything else about the food. Oh! They also have that super cool add the syrup to your soda fountain. LOOOVE IT!! =)

I was here for lunch yesterday with a group of colleagues. My first time at a Daphne's and a really nice experience. We arrived at about 11:40 AM so the line to order wasn't too long. The restaurant has apparently been recently remodeled and is very airy, cool, and mod. Service is prompt. I ordered the falafel pita, with pita chips, pesto hummus, and a drink for $8.65. Instead of waiting around for your number to be called. An employee brings your food over with real silverware wrapped in a napkin. The dish was presented beautifully and the portion size was perfectly for lunch. The falafel pita consists of 3 falafel patties, tomatoes, red onion, and lettuce. Tzatziki sauce is served as a condiment. The pita chips were very crunchy and the pesto hummus was delicious--basically plain hummus with a dollop of pesto. Service was prompt, our server was nice and comedic. It was a great lunch. I hope to be able to come back again soon.

I usually come to this location once a week for lunch break during work. I'm a regular to this place and have gotten a chance to know some of the managers and employees, who hook it up when I come on down. The staff is very attentive and pro-active. They serve food really quickly especially during the lunch hour rush. And given that they actually bring your order to your table, the timing is pretty darn good. I can get in and out of here in under half an hour even on crowded days. This location actually catered my office one day. I came in and the manager asked for my business card. I didn't know why, but I gave him one. One week later, I get a call saying that two trays of food were ready to be picked up for my department! I had a coworker come down with me and we were very pleased at the speed in which they made the food. The people at the office loved the trays and the manager offered more promotions in the future. Everyone at the office was a fan of the fire sauce, especially. I will probably stay loyal to this location because of the people who work there and liking the food doesn't hurt either.

I sometimes frequent this eatery on my lunch breaks as well and while it's a little more expensive than a drive through, it tastes so good. The staff is always friendly and the quality is always top notch. I've never had a bad experience at this Daphne's. I'd eat here everyday if I could :) Well maybe.

I think I used to go to this place a lot more maybe 4 or 5 years ago. Since then I've enjoyed a wider variety of foods and ethnicity's. With that being said, this is definitely my go to place for Greek. Their food is cooked to perfection and the staff is pretty nice and provide fast service. Even if I'm not in the mood for a full meal, I'll come here sometimes just to order the pita a bread and a side of hummus. It's to die for.

Put in a big order for 10+ people Everything was great. Salad was nice and fresh. Wrote everyones name on our order, everything was checked and double checked plus we got coupons AND they asked if they could help carry out to the car. As good as it gets.!

This place is actually not that bad. For a place that shouldn't have service, well... it has service. The workers sometimes comes by and asks how everything is and whatnot. The food itself is pretty good too. I got a pita burger with beef... I should have gone with the chicken... Regardless, the food was still good and filling. I wasnt too full, and at the same time, i wasnt too hungry either. This place has a variety of food that can satisfy anybody, even my vegan friend... I would definitely come back here again when im in the area.

Are there better Greek Restaurants out there? Sure. But if you're in a hurry and want an alternative to the MC's of the world this is a fairly decent fast food joint. I think it depends on what time of day you come as far as the freshness goes (hit and miss) but I came here last Friday night after being stuck on the 73 toll road for over 2 hour hours on my way to a dinner party. I was STARVING and this was the only place open. I ordered the $6 Dinner Special with freshly toasted pita bread, hummus, a street gyro (basically a mini-version), a chicken kabob, rice, Greek style salad and a baklava for dessert. The gyro and the rice pilaf were very average and the Taziki sauce was on the watery side but the rest was quite satisfying and fresh tasting. So, while there are several other options in the area, you can't beat this Greek Cafe for some fast/cheap eats. Eco Side Note: This places uses the MOST containers for one TO GO order I can remember in recent history. I will not order TO GO from here again.

Totally love this place. I used to work in Costa Mesa and would go here for lunch all the time and sometimes dinner too. I love their gyros, pitas, and the tzatziki is yummers!!!!! I can eat tzatziki and pita all day. For a fast food greek restaurant they are pretty good. If you have a hankering for Greek food and quick, this is the place for you.

The service is super nice here but the food is sooooo fake and dry. It seems over processed and kept fresh with preservatives. The only thing I like here is their pita bread and the Baklava, For the same price, go to Thasos Island Grille, formerly known as the Whole Pita, on Bristol and Sunflower.

I've been a big fan of this place since I started going to their Manhattan Beach store many years ago. Always a fresh, tasty, healthy alternative to fast food.

The first time eating here was back in 2004 when my husband and I met up with our friends Ruth and Ranz for a late lunch. It was my husband's first time meeting the BFF and I liked how my chicken kebabs plate tasted. I like the lamb but chicken's my first love. Finally, a Daphne's opened a franchise joint in San Mateo and we've been avid fans since except the dry ass rice pilaf.

The sit down service was impeccable. And OMG the pita burger is fantastic. The last time I enjoyed a burger this much was when I as a 9 year old kid in Savannah Georgia trying to wrap my face around a Bob's Big Boy burger. The meat and tomatoes were succulent and the spreads were tasty. The price for the burger and fries was and incredible $5.99 and I paid and extra $0.50 to top it off with gyro meat to make it totally orgasmic.

Had a very good experience today at the Harbor Blvd., CM location. I, too, had been put off by the staff smoking problem. But, was told that it is no longer a problem, so my husband and I went there for lunch today. Great wrap, gyro, rice and salad. Extra great service as well! Recommed for good value, taste and service.

Great New Menu -- Excellent Management at this Location I hadn't been to a Daphne's in quite a while, was surprised by their new 3-course dinner for $7 -- a starter, an entree, two sides, and dessert. The location was clean, the staff were very friendly. The kid at the counter actually looked like he didn't hate working here, and the manager even came around and asked how we were doing -- not typical of a casual food chain experience. The food tasted quite fresh and was well made and presented. I had the spanakopita (great) and falafel (o.k.) dinner, with tabouli (fantastic) and roasted vegies (good). Starter was hummus (average). My husband had the mini-gyros (2 on a plate, he was a happy camper). This location has been re-branded as "California Greek", and they have new salads and choices. Recommend.

I prefer The Whole Pita Greek Island Grill ( yelp.com/biz/whole-pita-… ) on the Santa Ana/Costa Mesa border. With that being said, Daphne's is okay for being a franchised chain. I used to really like it when I was fairly new to Greek food and this was an alternative to eating at other fast casual places. Back then, their lemon chicken was tasty and my default dish to order. Now the food just doesn't taste as good and the tzatziki is pretty much flavorless.

I have visited Daphne's restaurants before, this was my first time at the Costa Mesa location. As I got up to the register I realized I left my wallet at my office. The store manager Brian Wade was at the counter and insisted that I have lunch and then call him back when I got back to my office to pay for my lunch. I was amazed in this by the generosity as well as the understanding he showed me. I could tell he runs his restaurant with the customer in mind, and he won a customer for life with this simple action of trustworthness and professionlism. I apprecaite this type of service and when I got back to my office, I sent out an email to my entire organization of what wonderful service David and Daphne's restaurant gives out. Thank you again!

I'm a crazy fan of Greek food... if you are new to it then this is a good starter for you. I like to order the pita combo with rice and salad. That always hits the spot =)

The five stars are for the service. Sally was my host and she was incredibly warm and friendly, something that is not common anymore. She was actually concerned with me enjoying the food. The food was good. I tried the new wrap, the chicken with grilled veggies and feta. It was good, they use a sun dried tomato wrap. I made it a combo - side of tabbouleh and grilled veggies with a drink all for $8.88. I will be back :)

Low quality chain Greek food. The Gyro meat was so heavily stretched it tasted more like TVP than meat. There are better choices. (I'd give it 1 star, but a vegi friend says their salads are ok).

This was my first time at a Daphne's and was impressed with the food for the price, especially for a chain. Two people, 2 entree, 2 soup, 2 appetizer's and 2 sodas for $20. The service was quick and friendly. The regular hummus was good, the pepper one not my fave. I love the type of pita they use, thicker and tastier than the traditional thin pita. The falafel was pretty good, the chicken kabob good but could use more chicken. The lemon soup was the only disappointment.

I used to love the food here, maybe before I realised what real Greek/MIddleEastern is. I got the dip plate for lunch (Gyro sauce/hummus/and some fire dip along with like literally 8 slivers of pita) it was about 4.50 and the smallest amount of food I could imagine. I would have been better filled at Mcdonalds. In general, the pita bread sucked and tasted almost raw and the hummus tasted like they watered it down and had wayy too much garlic.I'd go somewhere else if I had been warned.

Service is good, the Gyros are tasty, Hummus is a great value and it has a nice dinning area. But when you stray away and try the veggetarian platter it was full of weird friend stuff that wasn't very good, also their chicken kabobs are ok but the rice was terrible, salads are ok. Stick to the Gyros, hummus and baklava and you should be ok.

Let it be known that I am definitely not a big Greek food eater and I have no idea if this stuff is authentic or some cheap Americanized rip off. But I know that I like what they serve here. I usually get the Half Chicken Dinner plate which comes with salad and rice pilaf and that great sauce. The chicken's always juicy and tender and all the sides really match with it. From reading other people's reviews it seems that when it comes to this place ignorance over what's really Greek food is bliss.

I don't eat Greek food often, so this review does not concern authenticity of the cuisine. However, their offerings are faily priced for a combo plate, and the items were tasty. In addition, the eating environment is fairly moden.
